This module develops the project management and creative skills to create a 2nd year portfolio.  In addition to using creative skills already learnt during the course, this lmodule will introduce a range of post production skills that will be incorporated into the student’s creative project work

Assessment Strategy

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their creative media skills and combine with their project management skills to deliver professional media products to a given brief. Their journal will show their creative development and their reflection on their practice to encourage future improvement.

Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:


Coursework 1 – creative media brief 1 and journal
Coursework 2 – creative media brief 2 and journal
Coursework 3 – creative media brief 3 and journal


Formative assessment

There are no formal formative assessment components for this module, but formative feedback will be given to individual students in tutorials and throughout the practical workshops.

Methods of Teaching / Learning

The learning and teaching strategy is designed to: further develop theory and practice in cinematography and post production craft skills. Research and development for the assignments will enhance the student’s camera techniques and Introduce visual effects and post production craft skills

The learning and teaching methods include:


One two-hour lecture per week (weeks 1 – 11)
Eleven two-hour workshops given by teaching staff and visiting professionals

Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
