The Industry Showcase provides students with the opportunity to present selected scenes before an invited audience comprising mainly of theatrical agents and casting directors at a West End venue. Prior to this, students take part in a Professional Jury in which selected industry professionals offer feedback on audition technique.

Prerequisites / Co-requisites
Successful completion of Level 5 Professional and Contextual Studies Modules. Students will be expected to attend warm-up sessions and arrive appropriately prepared for physical work. Detailed and extensive research and preparation will be necessary in pursuit of the modules aims and objectives.

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate
· Understanding of procedures, skills and abilities required for involvement in industry-level work
· Appropriate level of skill and judgment to deliver a high quality (at Level 6) performance for industry professionals
Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:
· Performance of an industry-focused showcase in Guildford and London. Each performance lasts one hour in line with industry standards.
Formative assessment and feedback
Formative assessment is included in respect of the student’s successful involvement in and contribution to the rehearsal process, which makes up 30% of the overall grade. Verbal feedback is given in class time throughout the module. This includes a professional jury feedback session, led by industry professionals, which lasts 5-10 minutes per student. Written feedback is provided on process and performance and includes indicative grading.
- Consolidate the skills requisite to the creating and sustaining of a character.
- Enable the student to research, rehearse and perform selected scenes appropriate to castability and potential employability
- Integrate and effectively deploy Acting, Movement, Voice and Singing techniques acquired and developed at Levels 4 and 5.

The learning and teaching methods include:
Rehearsals led by Senior Tutor or visiting professional.
Group and individual seminars.
Group and independent research.
Performances in Guildford and a West End venue.
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
