PROFESSIONAL PROFILE DEVELOPMENT - 2020/1

This module asks you to face outwards into your industry, and forwards to the future. You will be encouraged at the outset of the programme to become familiar with the work of individuals, organisations and companies whose activities are of particular interest and relevance to your target performance career. This module enables you to follow up on this interest in structured ways, entailing close analysis and grounded engagement with current professionals.
This module will put into practice many of the skills acquired in the Professional Development and Singing and Audition technique modules.
Firstly, you will undertake an audition for a professional role. You will develop industry contacts and will undertake a placement, with a professional company, possibly as a result of this audition as performer or as an observer/assistant for a minimum of 30 hours.
The module involves you in making contacts and interacting with industry practitioners and/or organisations. The module offers a placement, shadowing or field study engagement outside GSA, which will provide you with scope for extending your understanding of the current theatre and performance industry.
You will then submit a reflection on the practice either that you have undertaken or observed, indicating the ways in which this will affect your future development.
