Educational aims of the programme
- Enable and encourage students to develop their capacity for learning and communication within an open, scholarly, environment
- Develop an appreciation of economics, both as an intellectual discipline and as an important contributor to an understanding of the world in ways which are of practical significance
- Prepare students for a range of careers and other activities in which independent thought and analysis, as well as effective communication, can contribute to an improvement in social and economic welfare
- Provide an opportunity for study from a range of specialist areas of economics
- Enable better performing students completing undergraduate programmes to pursue higher degrees in economics
- Provide an opportunity for students to apply and demonstrate a range of skills, including the capacity for independent study, through the completion of a Level HE3 undergraduate project
- Provide an opportunity for undergraduates to participate in, and gain experience

This Bachelor's Degree (Honours) programme is studied full-time over three academic years, consisting of 360 credits (120 credits at FHEQ levels 4, 5 and 6). All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.
Possible exit awards include:
- Bachelor's Degree (Ordinary) (300 credits)
- Diploma of Higher Education (240 credits)
- Certificate of Higher Education (120 credits)
Full-time with PTY
This Bachelor's Degree (Honours) programme is studied full-time over four academic years, consisting of 480 credits (120 credits at FHEQ levels 4, 5, 6 and the optional professional training year). All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.
