Educational aims of the programme
- Offer up to date information that draws upon recent research activities;
- Offer a business management orientation related to the hospitality business drawing on a range of cognate areas of study to explain and analyse the hospitality sector;
- Provide high-quality education, which is intellectually rigorous and up-to-date, as well as relevant to the needs of existing and future managers, executives and professionals in the hospitality industry;
- Provide an international perspective both in scope and coverage;
- Apply an integrated approach to provide a coherent view that explores the interrelationships between the various components of the programme, but at the same time by way of elective modules permits students to pursue an extra element of specialisation relevant to their backgrounds, interests and/or career aspirations;
- Create a learner centric programme with each module reinforced through the Surrey Curriculum Framework's 5 key pillars Global and Cultural Intelligence, Digital Capabilities, Employability, Resourcefulness + Resilience, and Sustainability;
- Develop students as independent and reflective learners, able to continue their learning once in their chosen profession.
