Module aims

  • Building on the content of year one of the programme, this module aims to enable students to enhance their reflective skills and utilise this process as a means of exploration and development of practice through stimulation of personal as well as professional growth.

Learning outcomes

1 Consider the history of reflection to identify its value in health and social care practice, for example in personal and practice development.
2 Compare and contrast variety of approaches to reflection to facilitate analysis within a reflective framework.
3 Utilise reflection in and on action to demonstrate the effective use of reflection in decision making practice and the generation of learning.
4 Demonstrate learning through reflective accounts from practice that reflect on and evaluate personal attributes, qualities and own performance, for example, through the completion of a reflective journal.

Methods of Teaching / Learning
