Assessment Strategy
The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding of a whole systems approach to managing and supporting older people and how their role can influence delivery care. Thus summative assessment of this module consists of a written assignment of a study of a patient, critically analysing and evaluating the way in which services to support their health and social care needs are organised, delivered and managed. The study will conclude with recommendations for practice. Formative assessment Students will be given peer feedback on their ideas during seminars Feedback Formative feedback on essay plans will be provided through timetabled individual meetings with students during the module
Module aims
- To invite students to review their knowledge, skills and understanding of the complexities of caring for older people and reflect how care is provided. This will be achieved through analysing key concepts and modules of care and by challenging existing practices. Student will explore ways to improve practice in supporting this client group.

Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
