A final teaching module aimed at giving the students time to reflect their own practice within there chosen vocation in theatre production. A chance to research into an specialist area of their choice. An opportunity to focus upon some of the more advance skills in their subject area, identify areas that they perhaps need to work to improve, and develop industry links and networking opportunities to enhance their careers

Module aims

  • Broaden students’ knowledge and understanding of those sectors relevant to their Specialist Subject Pathway
  • To equip students to make the transition from education to professional work by developing industry specific knowledge and employability

Methods of Teaching / Learning

The learning and teaching strategy is designed to:

Engage the students individual research in developing their understanding of current developments in their specialist pathway.

The learning and teaching methods include:

A Module introduction followed by a series of taught sessions and a presentation.

Each pathway will have its own dedicated schedule of seminars and practical sessions. Depending upon the pathway and so the subject matter, these will vary in duration.

Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
