This Graduate Showcase module consolidates prior PDP activity towards the realisation of the London Showcase, a pivotal marketing event for soon to graduate students providing an opportunity to meet prospective employers and key practitioners representing production sectors of the entertainment, theatre, media, event and corporate industry.

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate both practical and transferable skills in realising a graduate showcase exhibition, working individually and within the wider group. The assessment also supports the programme and module learning outcomes particularly in the area of employability.
Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:
• Practice and Process: observation student engagement with taught sessions, independent study and progression of their showcase plan to realisation demonstrating research, planning, communication, time management, application of technical skills and personal marketing.
• A production notebook in the format of an e-portfolio, demonstrating understanding, reflection on and evaluation of the stage management and creative process of the production.
The Guildford showcase event provides an opportunity for formative feedback from GSA staff and invited external industry guests.
Verbal feedback will be provided by staff throughout the tutorials and practical activities of the module.
Provided verbally throughout the process. Summative feedback will be provided 3 weeks after showcase event (process/practice) and 3 weeks after submission of written work (production notebook).
- Implement a professional, industry-facing graduate showcase as a culmination of PDP throughout the programme
- To provide guidance in style, delivery and format of student generated marketing materials
- Introduce and embed key activities found with standard business ‘networking' model
- Encourage students to reflect critcally on their professional development planning and engagement with industry.
- Deepen and enhance awareness of industry structures, heirarchies and systems.

Methods of Teaching / Learning
The learning and teaching strategy is designed to:
Provide a secure template for the management and realisation of a marketing/networking event.
Identify key employment opportunities through appreciation of industry practitioners across all sectors in the creative industries.
Allow students to plan for post-graduate employment and/or further study
Engage students in discourse allowing for a learner directed approach to their PDP
The learning and teaching methods include:
• Seminars (will be available online for students on placement)
• Tutorials (will be available online for students on placement)
• Guided learning
• Independent study
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
