Educational aims of the programme
- The programme aims and learning outcomes focus on the emerging public health agenda, both nationally and internationally. The programme will develop student’s skills, knowledge and understanding to lead and work within a range of public health settings. The programme will develop practitioners who are able to identify and critically evaluate the evidence underpinning public health practice and develop and lead practice to meet current and developing public health needs.
- It aims to enhance practitioners’ knowledge, understanding and competence in order to develop the skills of complex decision making to enable practitioners to contribute to service development through leadership, innovation and research. It will enable students to develop skills in joint working with individuals and communities in order to develop holistic care to reduce health inequalities.

Full-time
This Master's Degree programme is studied full-time over four academic years, consisting of 180 credits at FHEQ level 7*. All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.
Possible exit awards include:
- Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits)
- Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits)
*some programmes may contain up to 30 credits at FHEQ level 6.
Parts of this programme may be studied outside of the standard University structure and may be subject to professional body requirements.
Part-time
This Master's Degree programme is studied part-time over five academic years, consisting of 180 credits at FHEQ level 7*. All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.
