Educational aims of the programme
- To enable an advanced knowledge of context, style, genre, and form in the practise of acting.
- To deepen experiential knowledge and understanding of the practise of acting.
- Develop independent actor / individuals imbued with a sense of learning as a lifetime pursuit.
- Provide an embodied approach to the work of the actor - aimed at developing and sustaining a career within the performance and entertainment industries.
- To provide an ensemble training context for the development of professional acting skills based on practical understanding and self reflection.
- To develop an experiential understanding of the techniques and methodologies that constitute a personally evolved rehearsal process.
- To cultivate an ethos that values the artist as well as the actor technician.

Programme structure
Full-time
This Bachelor's Degree (Honours) programme is studied full-time over three academic years, consisting of 360 credits (120 credits at FHEQ levels 4, 5 and 6). All modules are 15, 30, 45 or 60 credits and are either semester based or year-long. GSA delivers its provision across three teaching blocks, within the University of Surrey’s existing semester structure.
