Educational aims of the programme
- The programme aims to enhance the student's understanding, knowledge and expertise to lead and develop primary and community care practice.
- The programme will develop a critical and discerning practitioner who will be able to innovate and evaluate change in health and social care practice based on a sound knowledge and evidence base.
- It will provide the opportunity to develop clinical leadership necessary to achieve effective provision of care through and inter-professional approach to education across disciplines and organisations.
- It aims to enhance students' competence in complex decision making to enable them to make a significant contribution to service development through innovation, leadership and research.

Programme structure
Full-time
This Bachelor's Degree (Honours) programme is studied full-time over one year, consisting of 120 credits at FHEQ level 6. All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.
Possible exit awards include:

Other information
Students may apply for the recording of their qualification as a Community Children's Nurse, District Nurse or General Practice Nurse to be recorded with the NMC, those exiting with a subsidiary award are not eligible for Registration with the NMC. In order to register for the programme students must evidence that they have previously achieved the equivalent of 120 credits at FHEQ Level 4 and 120 credits at FHEQ Level 5.
