In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and in a departure from previous academic years and previously published information, the University has had to change the delivery (and in some cases the content) of its programmes, together with certain University services and facilities for the academic year 2020/21.

This module is your grand finale: a culmination of everything you have learnt during your Digital Media Arts journey. It is a chance to create an original piece of content to form the jewel in the crown of your cumulative portfolio and a showpiece for your graduation showcase. The work will also serve as a calling card and launchpad for your career going forwards. It is an opportunity to exercise your passion, creativity and technical skills, drawing on individualised support from the DMA team, plus external specialists, classmates and bringing in team-members from other disciplines where possible and/or desirable. Although this serves as the end of your Digital Media Arts degree, it also hopefully represents the beginning of an exciting and successful creative career. Make the most of the opportunity!

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to generate ideas, concepts and proposals, plan and execute a complex project drawing on an array of skills and techniques learned over the previous 2 years.
Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:
- Creative Project Portfolio (100%)
Formative assessment and feedback
As a final, independent module, the emphasis is placed on students to request specific feedback and support. However, continuous formative assessment is given through timetabled group critique and individual tutorials. Work-in-progress presentations are given direct feedback from the module tutor and students are all expected to give critiques and support each-other’s work, and dedicated technical support sessions are available from staff and technicians.
Specific feedback is provided at milestone/signoff points which are agreed and planned for each project between tutor and student(s) (e.g. final script, storyboard, animatic, pre-viz, alpha build, rough cut etc.as appropriate to the form and format of each work).
Specific feedback is also provided for draft versions of project showcase materials (e.g. catalog description, poster, trailer, webpage etc as appropriate to the form and format of each work).

Methods of Teaching / Learning
The learning and teaching strategy is designed to:
Support students in making independent, critical, and creative decisions in the creation of a final piece of work.
After having undertaken a wide range of research to help develop ideas and skills in the Autumn semester, students build on the pilot projects and project plans developed through the Project Research and Development module to develop a project demonstrating an awareness of the form(s) used, the techniques employed, and should reveal effective research from relevant sources.This module leads up to a final project for the student’s final degree show. In preparation, for this show, students will demonstrate how their ideas and knowledge have developed over the entire year and reflect on this process in the associated written practice critique.
The learning and teaching methods include:

Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
