Module Overview

This module focuses on the appraisal and development of students' graduate showcase proposal. Building on the Level 5 module Professional Development Planning, students will construct a considered and innovative proposal and plan evidencing a creative concept for their Showcase presentation underpinned by industry research and innovation.  It will also evidence a clear schedule of activity and resources required to realise the plan.

Assessment Strategy

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate achievement against the module learning outcomes.

Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:


  • Individual presentation of showcase stand proposal to tutors and peers.



Formative assessment


  • Presentation formative workshop: peer, self and tutor assessment of a proposed presentation during a timetabled session.



Feedback

•           Tutor and peer feedback for the formative assessment will be given during the workshop

•           Written feedback for the summative assessment will be provided within 3 weeks of the submission date.

Module aims

  • Encourage students, with appropriate support to plan and project manage an exhibition/installation
  • Further develop students’ skills and confidence in personal marketing and presentation
  • Further explore industries, practitioners and contributors to the wider entertainment and production sectors and opportunities for career development and lifelong learning.

Methods of Teaching / Learning

The learning and teaching strategy is designed to provide a variety of learning and teaching methods which fit with the overall aims & strategy of the programme and support an independent and self-motivated approach to personal career planning and professional development.

The learning and teaching methods include:

  • Individual development tutorials


Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration.
