Module Overview
This module forms a one of the major specialisations of Level 6 and consists of three components.
Students will present their project plans, with sample shots early in semester 1, to the rest of the year so that colleagues learn from their findings. Students will also have the opportunity to develop skills as film and TV professionals in lead and their choice of assisting roles.
Students will document their progress throughout the year in a journal or blog.

Module content
The content of the creative project will be agreed between the student and the module co-ordinator during Semester 1.
Students will agree their major creative project details as well as their operational roles for other projects.
Group and individual tutorials will be given throughout the year.
Students will maintain a continuous journal or blog record of the project development, plus a final reflective report.
The completed projects will be presented in an appropriate form.

Assessment Strategy
The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate excellence in film and TV production skills, as well as strong oral and written communication:
Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:
- Presentation (15%): outline of project plans.
- Creative project (85%): consists of three elements:-
a) A major project or productions to be agreed in semester 1.
b) Evidence of assisting roles in other productions.
c) A continuous documentation of the process.
Formative assessment will be given in the form of regular individual and group tutorials, plus a formative submission of the creative project.
Module aims
- Provide students with the experience of developing, individually, a major production or portfolio that is relevant to the Film and TV industry.
- Provide an opportunity to develop individual areas of operational interest and expertise.
- To enable the students to produce a screen based creative project demonstrating a high standard of intellectual and practical skills.
- To provide opportunities for students to produce a comprehensive oral presentation and complete projects that accurately reflect personal achievements through the creative work completed.

Methods of Teaching / Learning
The learning and teaching strategy is designed to: develop production skills in styles of TV and film making. It will also provide opportunities for discussion and debate. Some two-hour plenary session at the beginning of the semester. Seminar later in term where each student will give a presentation on their project topic. Regular tutorials and group feedback sessions
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
