In light of the Covid-19 pandemic the University has revised its courses to incorporate the ‘Hybrid Learning Experience’ in a departure from previous academic years and previously published information. This module introduces multi camera TV studio practice by building on the knowledge and skills, gained in previous modules. The student will develop an understanding of key practical aspects of audio visual media production for a television studio programme and it provides an opportunity for the student to learn about programme pre-production in preparation for a TV programme and develop operational TV studio skills for a studio based production.

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their technical skills and theoretical understanding of live studio television programme making. The assessment will also evaluate their operational skills and pre-production for the programme.
Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:
• Coursework 1 –continuous assessment on programme development 30%
• Coursework 2 – group project including individual practical skills 40%
• Coursework 3 – Individual reflective report on group project 30%
There may be formal formative assessment components during for this module, and formative feedback will be given to individual students and programme groups in tutorials and throughout practical workshops.
Students receive written feedback on their coursework and verbal feedback on their practical work throughout the module.

Methods of Teaching / Learning
The learning and teaching strategy is designed to develop studio craft skills and knowledge of the working with professional broadcast equipment to produce a live television programme. The students will learn professional production development for a television programme and apply it to their own production. All students will specialise in one area during the pre- production leading to the Television programme.
The learning and teaching methods include:
• 10 hours of lectures
• 6 hours of seminars
• 21 hours of studio rehearsal workshops
• 113 hours of self directed study and additional TV studio access for programme preparation
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
