In light of the Covid-19 pandemic the University has revised its courses to incorporate the ‘Hybrid Learning Experience’ in a departure from previous academic years and previously published information. The University has changed the delivery (and in some cases the content) of its programmes. This module is delivered on-line and enables the students to explore and evaluate many of the underpinning principles and applications of e-health, m-health and telecare. Students will also evaluate the effectiveness of these approaches in relation to patient care.

The assessment strategy is designed to enable the students to explore and apply the underpinning concepts of technology in relation to healthcare
Thus summative assessment of this module consists of a 3000 word assignment.
A critical analysis of an illness/health/ social care issue which examines the use of eHealth, mHealth and Telecare technologies to enhance the quality of healthcare.
On-line discussion of ideas for assignment focus
Students will receive feedback via on-line discussions, email and tutorials if requested.
- Introduce students to the concept of eHealth, mHealth and Telecare and consider methodological approaches that can be applied to the development, testing and evaluation of eHealth, mHealth and Telecare technologies
- Introduce the concept of assessing the cost-effectiveness of eHealth, mHealth and Telecare applications
- Highlight the importance of user involvement and user experiences in the design, development and testing of eHealth, mHealth and Telecare technologies
