In light of the Covid-19 pandemic the University has revised its courses to incorporate the ‘Hybrid Learning Experience’ in a departure from previous academic years and previously published information. Indicative content includes:
- Students will practice under supervision of a health care professional or PPEd, the provision and promotion of a caring environment for individual patients taking into consideration ethical, moral, empathetic, cultural and spiritual sensitivity and privacy and dignity.
- The student will begin to demonstrate leadership, providing evidence of progression with confidence in patient management pathways.
- In order to build on their understanding of the multi-disciplinary nature of healthcare, placements will provide opportunities to consolidate advanced airway management. Visits will include hospital theatres; Maternity and Paediatrics; and Surrey Fire and Rescue.

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate the development of clinical paramedic skills in a clinical setting assessed by an appropriately educated PPEd.

The PPEd will support the student to reflect on and discuss their experiences of a number of emergency and non-emergency patient cases at a mid-point review. The students will demonstrate their understanding of the elements required in the provision of clinical decision making. This will link in the theories of patient management to clinical pathways through reflection and research for supportive evidence enhancing the discussions with their PPEd, who will provide formative feedback.
- This module aims to enable students to develop strategies in clinical leadership to enhance inter professional working. The student paramedic will continue to consolidate and develop their clinical skills and professional knowledge.

30 hours per week in a varied shift pattern of social and unsocial shift times.
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
