In light of the Covid-19 pandemic the University has revised its courses to incorporate the ‘Hybrid Learning Experience’ in a departure from previous academic years and previously published information. The University has changed the delivery (and in some cases the content) of its programmes. We have updated key module information regarding the pattern of assessment and overall student workload to inform student module choices. We are currently working on bringing remaining published information up to date to reflect current practice during the academic year 2021/22.
This means that some information within the programme and module catalogue will be subject to change. Current students are invited to contact their Programme Leader or Academic Hive with any questions relating to the information available.
This module is designed to work alongside the Specialist Pathway Development module to empower students to begin their ‘journey’ of professional development within their chosen field in the global entertainment industry. It will include a short period of work experience within an approved professional setting.
In the delivery of this module, GSA is guided by the UN's 17 Sustainable Development goals. We aim to promote good health and well-being by keeping to appropriate working hours and maintaining Equity-standard safe spaces. We encourage positive working ethics: collaboration, kindness, support, understanding, listening and integrity. We aim to encourage enterprise and entrepreneurship as well as fostering an understanding of sustainable business models. An understanding of sustainable funding streams so that practice can take place in a viable ethical way post graduation. We encourage collaboration within the community through initiative that support social sustainability.

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate achievement against the module learning outcomes.
Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:
- Portfolio: CV, personal development plan and reflective evaluation of their work experience (2000 words)
- CV and personal development plan workshop: peer, self and tutor assessment of a professional CV and career development plan during a timetabled session.
- Tutor and peer feedback for the formative assessment will be given during the workshop
- Written feedback for the summative assessment will be provided within 3 weeks of the submission date.

Methods of Teaching / Learning
The learning and teaching strategy is designed to provide a variety of learning and teaching methods which fit with the overall aims & strategy of the programme and support an independent and self-motivated approach to personal career planning and professional development.
The learning and teaching methods include:
- Mock interviews
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
