This module focuses on the appraisal and development of students' showcase proposal. Building on the Level 5 Professional Development module, students will construct a considered and innovative proposal and plan evidencing a creative concept for their Showcase presentation underpinned by industry research and innovation. This module consolidates all activity towards the realisation of the students' Showcase event, a marketing event for soon to graduate students providing an opportunity to connect with prospective employers and key practitioners representing all production sectors of the entertainment and theatre industry. This may or may not be a digital/streamed event and/or may or may not be a live event.
The showcase reflective process will include a sustainability focus which could use principles from the industry developed Green book as well as good health and well-being best practices and promoting positive work ethics like collaboration. Our aim is responsible consumption, including recycling and re-purposing, considering existing resources and promoting a circular economy within our production process and everyday life at GSA and going into the industry creating a positive contribution to ethical innovation and entrepreneurship.

The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate achievement against the module learning outcomes. Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of: an individual presentation created for the showcase event.
Formative assessment of showcase proposal to tutors and peers.
- Plan and implement final Showcase event
- Enable students to work both individually and as a group to produce a professional showcase which presents them as graduates to the industry
- Introduce key activities found with standard business networking models
- Further students understanding of industry structures and institutions, and how they may engage with these.
- Encourage students, with appropriate support to plan and project manage an exhibition/installation
- Further develop students skills and confidence in personal marketing and presentation
- Further explore industries, practitioners and contributors to the global entertainment and production sectors and opportunities for career development and lifelong learning.

Methods of Teaching / Learning
The learning and teaching strategy is designed to provide a variety of learning and teaching methods which fit with the overall aims & strategy of the programme and support an independent and self-motivated approach to personal career planning and professional development, networking and effective self-presentation.
The learning and teaching methods include:

Practical production work towards realisation of project
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
