Educational aims of the programme
- Knowledge and understanding - A systematic, in-depth understanding of the development, issues and influences relevant to business and management education globally and in different cultural contexts including the role of accrediting bodies, external governing bodies and industry, Sustainability, Digitisation, Responsibility and Ethics.
- Application - an ability to apply different learning and teaching concepts inside and outside the classroom and demonstrate their adaption in teacher training sessions, peer feedback exercises, curriculum and assessment design and the ability to critically evaluate the impact of learning and teaching concepts and approaches to various business and management subjects in the context of learning and experience (e.g. sustainability, resourcefulness and resilience, global and cultural capabilities, digital capabilities and employability).
- Synthesis and creativity - an ability to design innovative curriculum and conduct educational research. This ability services educators to remain competitive in the market (employability).
- Reflection and prospection - critically interrogate theoretical assumptions, development and practices in business management education and develop personal and professional resourcefulness and resilience and to identify opportunities to learn from reflective and prospective behaviour in order to develop an individual learning and teaching philosophy.
- Transferrable Skills - Students will gain knowledge and skills about reflective and prospective thinking through coaching and mentoring and the value of educational coaching and mentoring to foster resourcefulness and resilience of students and teaching colleagues. Such knowledge acquisition is key to strengthen global and cultural capabilities as an educator inside and outside the classroom.

Other information
This programme is delivered as an online programme with a 3-day summer school at the end. There is a strong focus on independent learning and reflective and prospective thinking. This approach is supported by the idea of coaching sessions throughout one¿s study. Each student is allocated a personal learning Coach and offered weekly face-to-face session virtual or in person to help students sharpen their reflective and prospective skills. Students are encouraged to keep a reflective diary and to discuss aspects of it with their Personal Learning Coach in order to enhance their skills and develop these further. This should help students to meet the programme learning outcomes outlined above and to specifically establish an individual pedagogic philosophy/ approach in ME necessary for teaching students of any FHEQ level. This will be achieved by introducing students from the beginning to reflective and prospective thinking skills. Each module has a specific focus and uses coaching techniques to support this aspect. Module 1 (Introduction to Management Education) focuses on developing reflective and prospective skills either from the start or further depending on the level of reflective and prospective awareness of the student. Module 2 (Theoretical Foundations in Management Education) builds on the skills acquired and feedback and 1:2:1 consultations aim to improve these skills where necessary through coaching techniques. Module 3 (Innovation and Leadership in Management Education) advances reflective and prospective skills to the point that students should be able to follow the techniques learned through 1:2:1 coaching sessions themselves. This is an important aspect for student interaction. Module 4 (Management Education in Practice) gives students the opportunity to demonstrate how mastering these skills supported the development of their pedagogic philosophy. The strong personal and professional development focus enables graduates to compete in the global business school market (employability). The learning and teaching approach of the programme emphasises the importance if sustainability, globalisation, digitisation, resilience and resourcefulness inside and outside the classroom and has these pillars firmly embedded.
