This module will provide the students with the opportunity to harness previously learned business analytics methods to solve a problem in their respective proposed plan (business analytics challenge project 1). The students will submit a substantial piece of work with practical solutions to the problem.

|Business Analytics Challenge
The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate: The ability to utilise relevant business analytics methods within a suitable research project, conduct independent empirical research and write a project report.
Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:
- Business Analytics Challenge (100%) Each student will have to submit a research implementation report (based on their proposal from Business Analytics Challenge 1) data collection, results and analysis, discussion, and conclusion. Addresses learning outcomes
Formative assessment Supervision sessions will be used as formative assessment outlets where supervisors will assess progress and advice on how to improve the project. Feedback A supervisor will be allocated to the group by the module coordinator. Each student/group is required to have up to 4 meetings with the supervisor, who will monitor the project progress and provide formative feedback during these meetings.
- To explore ways for expanding knowledge of the relevant research methods and implementation.
- Introduce various skills in business analytics utilised for solving realistic problems.
- Introduce academic methods for preparing and presentation about the project according to accepted academic conventions.

The learning and teaching strategy is designed to:
Encourage critical understanding of the role played by analytics for business decision making. Learning will be supported through a combination of lectures, workshops, and direct supervision plus online discussion groups combined with directed and self-directed study to solve problems and present findings.
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
