Educational aims of the programme
- Provide a high-quality education that is intellectually rigorous, culturally, and environmentally aware and attuned to the current aspects of the investment and finance professions.
- Provide students with a basis for developing their own approach to learning and personal development through a combination of compulsory and optional modules that are united by a focus on dialogue between theory and practice.
- Students will gain an insight into the cutting-edge areas of ethics, behavioural finance (understanding how investment style creates portfolio biases affecting performance), financial modelling (including textual analysis), and environmental and social issues within green finance.
- Provide students with transferable skills such as leadership, problem-solving, communication and professionalism required to operate successfully in an investment management or investment analysis role within the finance industry or to pursue further academic study within the subject area.
- The compulsory and optional modules provide students with a rigorous grounding in theory complemented by the applied quantitative and digital techniques necessary to undertake empirical investigations (to form balanced evaluations of practice) and specialise in frontier areas that suit their particular interest or future career needs.
