This Bachelor's Degree (Honours) programme is studied full-time over three academic years, consisting of 360 credits (120 credits at FHEQ levels 4, 5 and 6). All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.

This Bachelor's Degree (Honours) programme is studied full-time over four academic years, consisting of 480 credits (120 credits at FHEQ levels 4, 5, 6 and the optional professional training year). All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.

Other information

The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management develops graduates with strong Employability, Digital Capabilities, Global and Cultural Capabilities, Sustainability, Resourcefulness and Resilience. This programme builds these through aviation-focused knowledge, skills and experiences.

Digital capabilities prepare students to use key aviation technologies, software and systems essential to airline and airport operations. Employability is enhanced through understanding global aviation regulations, industry dynamics, leadership, strategic thinking and professional networking.

Global and cultural capabilities are strengthened through intercultural teaching, case studies, scenario-based learning and insights from diverse guest speakers from the aviation and tourism sectors. Students learn to work in multicultural environments and navigate international regulations and cross-cultural communication.

Resourcefulness and resilience are developed through activities that build creative problem-solving, emotional intelligence and adaptability, reflecting the fast-paced, unpredictable aviation industry. Sustainability is embedded through study of environmental, social and economic responsibility, ethical decision-making and sustainable technologies.

Level 4 provides core aviation and management foundations. Levels 5 and 6 build toward specialist aviation subjects using industry case studies, simulations and applied projects. Modules are scaffolded so early service and management content supports advanced operational and strategic aviation learning.

Students benefit from study-skills support, personalised tutorials and aviation-focused seminars. Optional modules¿including Dissertation, Business Plan, Startup Ventures and Consultancy¿can be tailored to aviation themes. A subsidised Aviation Field Trip provides experiential learning.

Group assessments reflect aviation¿s collaborative nature, developing teamwork, leadership and negotiation. Research-led teaching ensures engagement with current industry issues and application of academic insight to real-world aviation challenges.
