  • Introduction to Cell Biology

  • Introduction to Microbiology.

The structure and functions of the body systems including:


  • Cardiovascular System including ABO blood typing.

  • Urinary System

  • Nervous System

  • Endocrine System

  • Musculoskeletal System

  • Digestive System

  • Reproductive System (Male ad Female)

  • Skin (Integumentary System)

  • The Immune and Lymphatic Systems

Assessment Strategy

This assessment strategy is designed to test your knowledge of the key concepts of anatomy and physiology. This assessment will be administered in form an online unseen examination lasting 2 hours. This will task your ability to recall and apply key concepts, principles, processes and mechanisms addressed in this module.

Thus the summative assessment for this module consists of:


  • A two hour online unseen examination paper.

  • The module aims to enable the students to develop a sound understanding of body systems and the maintenance of homeostasis and to make clear links with clinical assessment and interventions.

Enable you to develop an understanding of the biological concepts, processes, principles and mechanisms of the human body systems, as underpinning patient care delivery and clinical assessments.
