Educational aims of the programme

  • Enable appropriately qualified health and social care professionals to develop higher level understanding of clinical practice. (PG Cert)
  • Provide a stimulating and conducive learning context in which to develop new knowledge, skills and understanding of contemporary policy, practice and theoretical perspectives for clinical practice (PG Cert)
  • Facilitate practitioners to develop the knowledge and skills to deal with complex issues, making sound clinical decisions and judgements in the absence of complete data (PG Dip)

Programme structure

Part-time

This Master's Degree programme is studied part-time over two to five years, consisting of 180 credits at FHEQ level 7. All modules are worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.
Possible exit awards include:
- Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits)
- Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits)
Parts of this programme may be studied outside of the standard University structure and may be subject to professional body requirements
