Assessment Strategy
The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate:their ability to identifying a suitable research topic, conduct independent academic literature review, conceptualise a solution framework, and write a research proposal.
Thus, the summative assessment for this module consists of:
· Research Proposal (80%)
Each student will have to submit a 3000-words individual research proposal of their project in week 11 of the semester including literature review and conceptual framework of their proposed work.
· Proposal Presentation (20%).
Oral presentation of the proposal after the submission of the proposal
Formative assessment
Supervision sessions will be used as formative assessment outlets where supervisors will assess progress and advice on how to improve the project.
Feedback
A supervisor will be allocated to the group by the module co-ordinator. Each student/group is required to have up to 4 meetings with the supervisor, who will monitor the project progress and provide formative feedback during these meetings.
Module aims

- · To allow students to critically evaluate business analytics methods for solving a specific business problem and develop a solution framework.
- · Provide the opportunity for students to plan, organise, and implement a large piece of work over a sustained period of time.

The learning and teaching strategy is designed to:
encourage critical understanding of the role played by analytics for business decision making. Learning will be supported through a combination of lectures and online discussion groups, plus directed and self-directed study to define problems and propose solutions frameworks.
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.
