Module Overview
Our career growth accelerator module is a series of mandatory workshops and activities designed to equip future responsible leaders with the strategic tools, self-awareness, and influence skills required for career acceleration and growth in a dynamic and competitive environment. The module aims to engage students in a structured process of career discovery, mentoring, critical personal reflections, brand articulation and provides the opportunity to use our global MBA Alumni network for career leverage.
Through guided exploration of individual strengths, values, and leadership identity, students will develop a clear, actionable roadmap aligned with their long-term career aspirations.
The module integrates executive-level career coaching strategy, industry mentor, recruiter feedback, and a range of practical techniques for navigating organisational politics, securing high-impact roles, and positioning yourself for future leadership opportunities.

Assessment Strategy
The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate and submit evidence of their potential career growth and impact during the MBA programme.
The module is assessed using a personal portfolio made up of a combination of mindset self-assessment, career foundation portfolio, impact casebook, career commitment pitch and action plan launch pack

Formative assessment:
Students will receive a range of feedback responses from faculty/facilitator (1-2-1), from peer learning/peer pods, and through discussions during the facilitated sessions.
Feedback
Feedback will be provided in the following forms: Written feedback on all the submitted personal portfolio made up of a combination of mindset self-assessment, career foundation portfolio, impact casebook, career commitment pitch and action plan launch pack. This will be provided by a first marker and the moderator in the context of the marking rubric uploaded on SurreyLearn.

Methods of Teaching / Learning
The learning and teaching strategy combines a range of delivery methods in a blended way that combines theory, experiential learning and critical reflection (self and peer) to facilitate awareness in the development of key leadership skills.
The learning and teaching methods include:
¿ Active participation-based workshops and activities
¿ Scaffolding with faculty-led coaching, mentorship with regular check-ins
¿ Gathering and compiling evidence of career plan using self-assessment inventory tools/techniques
¿ Supplementary theory, captured content, or reading
¿ Discussions/Guest speakers engagement
¿ Reflective prompts, peer exchange and mentor feedback
¿ Attending networking events, speaker series, careers fest and leadership conferences
¿ Presentations, group discussions, peer learning (peer pods)
¿ Participating in concrete experience - live simulations, role-playing scenarios
The delivery is structured as follows:
¿ In-class: workshop, seminar, discussions, guest speakers series, simulations
¿ Outside classroom: Networking, visitations, conferences, 1-2-1 coaching
¿ Guided group work: working in groups on the tasks, discussion with peers and facilitator(s).
At the end of the module, students must submit components of their portfolio at various scheduled stages of the programme. The portfolio is made up of a combination of: mindset self-assessment, career foundation portfolio, impact casebook, career commitment pitch and action plan launch pack. The assessment strategy is designed to ensure the learning outcomes are assessed on different levels.
Indicated Lecture Hours (which may also include seminars, tutorials, workshops and other contact time) are approximate and may include in-class tests where one or more of these are an assessment on the module. In-class tests are scheduled/organised separately to taught content and will be published on to student personal timetables, where they apply to taken modules, as soon as they are finalised by central administration. This will usually be after the initial publication of the teaching timetable for the relevant semester.

This module is designed to allow students to develop knowledge, skills, and capabilities in the following areas: Global and cultural capabilities: The module provides students with an opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of diverse cultures and cultural sensitivities and enhance their ability to develop effective cross-cultural competencies. Digital capabilities: Students will use a range of industry-leading digital assessment tools/techniques/software to capture a snapshot of their self-report inventory and identify their personality and leadership blind spots to evaluate their career growth mindset, values and behaviour, Emotional Quotient (EQ) competencies and stress/reactive tendencies. Students will also be expected to participate in collaborative and peer reviews using appropriate communication technology, as well as creating visual presentations and a compelling impact casebook/action plan of their career development. (Digital Portfolio) Employability: Students will have extensive documentation of evidence (co-curricular credentials/transcripts) of their career development skills, leadership traits, high-value industry relationships and progressive transformation. Resourcefulness and resilience: The use of a module design focuses on the scaffolding of ongoing self-assessment, profiling, preferred styles, and behavioural traits with an emphasis on learning as an essential element of career growth.
