Educational aims of the programme
- - This programme is for postgraduates and professionals with at least three years of managerial work experience at the point of application, with the aspiration to master a multidisciplinary curriculum that equips them with the credentials and capabilities needed for their next stages of a career in business management. The programme embeds action-driven leadership, entrepreneurial agility and industry immersion through direct engagement with global businesses, emerging markets, and executive mentors.
- 1 - To prepare future responsible leaders for an era of constant disruption and seize opportunities to uphold ethical standards and holistic business acumen, whilst recognising that every strategic decision carries social, environmental, and economic reverberations

This Master's Degree programme is studied full-time over one academic year, consisting of 180 credits at FHEQ level 7*. All modules are semester based and worth 15 credits with the exception of project, practice based and dissertation modules.
Possible exit awards include:

This module is designed to allow students to develop knowledge, skills, and capabilities in the following areas:
Employability: The programme ensures students master the art of adaptive decision-making, commercial innovation, and strategic execution in high-stakes environments. It is designed to enhance your adaptability and lifelong learning mindset. It equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required senior management and leadership roles. The programme includes a compulsory co-curricular career development component to enhance personal and professional development in business foundations and leadership mastery for global impact, with activities, workshops, and a bespoke careers element specially designed to enhance students' employability in a competitive labour market.
Global and cultural capabilities: Students and staff on the MBA programme come from diverse and culturally rich backgrounds. As such, students are expected to develop a proficiency in collaboration and multicultural competence, by broadening their own world view, perspectives, and interpretations by interacting and engaging with this diversity daily. For example, you will be expected to participate in activities that involve cross-functional teamwork and inclusive leadership, co-create solutions to drive organisational agility, essential in a globalised, fast-changing economy. Additionally, several modules in the portfolio have a specific global focus with opportunities to do an immersion project with our global partners, as well as undertake activities and assessment strategies designed to prepare students for the global marketplace that awaits after graduation.
Digital capabilities: Most MBA students join the programme with basic digital skills (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), but over the course of the programme you will develop as a technology proficient innovator, through hands-on experience with data and latest analytics tools to explore and interpret business challenges, create compelling data visualisations, harnessing AI, storytelling with data or working with emerging business models on digital platforms. Surrey MBA graduates quickly master new tools and integrate them into strategic decisions. Our MBA students will engage with several specialist simulations during taught modules. Examples of these include SimVenture, a business development simulation; StratX, a strategic marketing simulation; and Miro, an application that supports ideation and creativity.
Resourcefulness and resilience: Our programme is an intensive learning journey designed to enhance students' continual professional development as senior managers and leaders. Student performance and progress are facilitated with a range of assessments (both formative and summative), supported by coaching and mentoring elements designed to assist in the development of individual and collective resourcefulness and resilience in the face of challenges and adversity. During the programme, our Surrey MBA graduates demonstrate agility and continuous learning in the face of disruption. For example, the completion of the Global Impact Residency and the Integrative Applied Project with industry partners will help demonstrate the ability to seize opportunities, update skill sets, remain attuned to market shifts, and thrive in environments where innovation is the new constant.
Sustainability: The Surrey MBA teaches ethical leadership and responsible management. The programme expects students to become changemakers and purposeful Innovators by applying progressive, transformational, and responsible approaches in entrepreneurial thinking with social responsibility to catalyse positive change. Sustainability is embedded in the MBA programme. In addition to a module focused on preparing senior leaders to lead organisations in keeping with Sustainability principles and best practice, the programme also provides students with the opportunity to work on live projects with Social Enterprise and purpose-driven businesses for insight into how these principles interact with all of the core management disciplines.
